Son Rise Part 2 10/5/15

I woke up excited about the next five days. We had "class" every day from 9-4:30 with an hour lunch break at noon. Stacey and I went to the cafeteria for breakfast. Typically I love buffet breakfasts. I was expecting all you an eat eggs, bacon, pancakes and pastrys. The hippy vibe of the buildings should have tipped me off that breakfast was a procession of gluten, sugar, fat and flavor free food. I had a bowl of raisin bran and a cup of black coffee.

It was about ten to nine so Stacey and I walked to the steepled building across the parking lot. It looked like a church. We opened the doors and were greeted with a workbook and instructions not to sit next to our room mates. We removed our shoes and walked into the main room.

The room was impressive. The back wall was made of wood slats that formed a large diamond in it's center. The seating area was divided into three sections. Left, right and middle. The "chairs" were just cushions that lay flat on the ground with a sling back. There was a pack of kleenex and a pecil beside each seat.

This week was my idea. I pushed to go on this trip. I was determined to learn everything I could and be open to anything necessary for Mia. However, at this point I was confronted with the sinking feeling that I was joining a cult. All my red flags were raised, and I expected to be skeptical and defensive.
